Spade handle ATLAS of ash wood, straight T-handle length 90 cm, with strong through-mount T-grip and fitted with a smooth, angled tip. This handle is, among others, suitable for Polet spades and shovels with double springs. Two rivets are required for mounting (see article number 651620, also for the mounting instructions).

ATLAS spade handles are made from ash rootstock; this contains the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process the sawn ash planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber controlled by computer. By re-drying the handle does not shrink, tools remain solidly attached to the handle and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples.

Subsequently the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its attractive natural colour. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, which helps prevent blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
