Digging shovel ATLAS DIAMANT, Drents model with socket angle 1/4 bent and blade size 000, complete with an extra double-bent ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle with a length of 110 cm, equipped with a through-mount T-grip. The polished blade is hardened and has a sharp cutting edge.

The ASH ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle is made from ash rootstocks; this is where the best wood is. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. As a result, the handle does not shrink, tools stay firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba which provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, helping to prevent blisters.

Explanation of socket angle
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more inclined the socket. This determines whether a shovel or bats is designed for stabbing or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.

Straight: the handle is almost straight on the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example for scoop shovels and deep shovels

Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, where 2 is the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller due to working conditions and smaller sizes were introduced.
