Digging shovel ATLAS DIAMANT, Drents model with socket position 1/4 bent upward and blade size 00, complete with an extra double-bent ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle, 110 cm long, fitted with a through-mount T-grip. The polished blade is hardened, has a sharp cutting edge and a flat underside.

Thanks to the extra double-bent gooseneck shovel handle the blade lies nicely flat on the ground. This ATLAS DIAMANT bats is therefore ideal for leveling and flatly scooping a sand bed or roadbed.

The ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle is made from ash wood butt sections, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. As a result the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple. In addition the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba which provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, helping to prevent blisters.

Explanation of socket angle
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more slanted the socket. This determines whether a shovel or bats is designed for thrusting or scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.

Straight: the handle is almost straight with the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example with scoop shovels and deep shovels

Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller because of working conditions, and smaller size ranges were introduced.
