Scoop shovel ATLAS DIAMANT Dutch model with socket position 3/4 bent and blade size 1, supplied without handle. The hardened blade is blue lacquered and has a bright polished, sharp edge. This loose shovel head can be combined with various ATLAS Blijham handles, shovel handles, shovel-head handles, and bent or double-bent handles.
Explanation of socket position
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more inclined the socket is. This determines whether a shovel or spade is designed for digging in or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.
Straight: the handle is almost in line with the blade.
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example on scoop shovels and deep spades
Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller because of working conditions, and smaller sizes were introduced.
