Paving spade ATLAS 1/2 000 hardened, clear lacquered, with ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle 110 cm extra double bent
Paver's spade or flat spade ATLAS with socket size 1/2 bent upward and blade size 00, complete with an extra double-bent gooseneck shovel handle, length 110 cm, fitted with a through-mount T-grip. The clear lacquered blade is hardened, has a sharp cutting edge and a flat underside. The combination of this blade with the extra double-bent ATLAS handle raises it to a comfortable height while the blade stays neatly flat on the ground or sand bed. This spade is therefore ideal for pavers.
The ash wood ATLAS gooseneck shovel handle is made from ash wood lower trunks, which contain the best timber. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been computer-controlled re-dried in a climate chamber. As a result the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which ensures a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters.
Explanation of socket position
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more inclined the socket. This determines whether a shovel or spade is designed for stabbing or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket when the blade lies flat on the ground.
Straight: the handle is almost straight on the blade.
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels.
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example on scoop shovels and deep shovels
Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller due to working conditions, and smaller sizes were introduced.
The blade sizes for shovels and spades are from largest to smallest: 2 – 1 – 0 – 00 – 000
