The ATLAS Waste Tamper is, because of its flat shape, suitable for pressing down, tamping and pushing away waste when it is stuck in an underground container.

In addition, this tamper is used as a rail tamper or ground tamper for compacting soil along, for example, pipelines, ducts and concrete kerbs. For this application this ATLAS tamper is popular with paving contractors, fiber‑optic installers and in the infrastructure sector.

This tamper is sometimes also called a bread shooter.

ATLAS track tampers are made from ash under-stems, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-resistant and strong. The push pole is also waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures that the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
