Spatenstiel ATLAS 85 cm, mit durchgestecktem T-Griff, für IDEAL Diamantspaten

Ideal spade handle ATLAS of ash wood, 85 cm long, supplied with a round, unmilled end and a strong through-mount T-grip. This handle is, among others, suitable for Ideal Diamant spades. For mounting, a 50 mm rivet is recommended (item number 651620, including mounting advice).

ATLAS Ideal spade handles are made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-resistant and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process the sawn ash planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. Because of the re-drying the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple. 

As a final step, the ATLAS handles are waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This allows the wood to breathe, prevents it from absorbing water or dirt, and preserves its beautiful natural colour. The waxing extends the lifespan and gives a pleasantly smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, waxing the handles with a plant-based wax is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
