Shovel handle ATLAS made of ash wood, lightly bent T-handle 110 cm long, with strong through-mount T-grip. A lightly bent shovel handle is often used together with a digging shovel, concrete shovel, scoop shovel, or a cable shovel.

ATLAS shovel handles are made from ash rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first process sawn ash planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. By re-drying the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples.

Next the ATLAS shovel handles are bent in boiling water. This causes the wood grain in the handle to follow the bend and prevents the grain from running out of the handle (a running-out grain is weaker). The bending process makes the handle extremely strong.

Finally the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt and retains its beautiful natural colour. The waxing provides a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, which prevents blisters. Moreover, plant-based waxing of handles is better for the environment than the use of varnish or paraffin.
