ATLAS Betonschaufel ½ O gehärtet, gerommelt mit ATLAS Eschen T-stiel 100 cm
A concrete shovel is often used by paving contractors, infrastructure companies and gardeners.
Concrete shovel ATLAS with socket position 1/2 and blade size 0. Made of hardened, lacquered steel. Complete with a bent ATLAS shovel handle 100 cm long, fitted with a through-mount T-grip.
Thanks to the straight front edge of this concrete shovel, it is perfect for leveling or for evenly removing material from a sand bed or trench.
The ash wood ATLAS shovel handle is made from ash wood lower trunk sections; these contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. As a result, the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.
ATLAS handles are bent in boiling water. This causes the wood grain or fibre in the handle to bend with it and prevents the grain from running out of the handle. The bending process makes the handle extremely strong. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which ensures a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, thereby preventing blisters.
Explanation of socket position
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more inclined the socket. This determines whether a spade or bats is designed for penetrating (to drive into the soil) or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket, with the blade lying flat on the ground.
Straight: the handle is almost straight in relation to the blade.
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: The socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70 cm, for example on scoop shovels and deep shovels
Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ran from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller because of working conditions, and smaller sizes were introduced.
The blade sizes for shovels and spades range from large to small: 2 – 1 – 0 – 00 – 000
