A ditch blade, also called a ditch scythe and edge scythe, is ideal for underwater mowing and for clearing ditch edges and banks. The angle of this scythe is flatter (large tang angle) than that of a standard scythe, so the correct mowing angle is maintained underwater while the operator stands on the bank.
By combining the ditch blade with a long pole or ditch hook handle, reeds and other vegetation can be cut far out into the water. Long poles and ditch hook handles are available in various lengths.
The DENCKER Ditch Blade is forged from a single piece of steel and thinly hardened, which ensures the cutting edge is razor-sharp. In addition, it is important to sharpen the Ditch Blade regularly with a scythe hone, a whetstone or a peening anvil.
Because of its 60 cm width, the DENCKER Ditch Blade is ideal for long banks or a deep slope. For a narrow slope or lots of turning, choose a narrow Edge Scythe.
