The ATLAS Zuringsteker is specially designed for extracting sorrel, thistles and other weeds with a taproot. By inserting the long forged tines of the Zuringsteker into the ground up to the step beside the root, the entire plant including the root can be levered out of the grass.
The ATLAS ash wood handle is made from ash butt sections, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. As a result, the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly fixed to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or staples. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba wax, which provides longer durability and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters.
