ATLAS Flachrandschaufel ¼ OOO gehärtet, gerommelt, mit gebogenem TRITT mit ATLAS Eschen T-stiel 110 cm
Bats Drents model with flat step and strong Atlas handle with through-mount T-grip
Digging shovel ATLAS, Drents model with socket set at 1/4 bend and blade size 000, complete with a bent ATLAS shovel handle, length 110 cm, fitted with a through-mount T-grip. The lacquered blade is hardened and has a flat bent step. Thanks to the step, footwear will not be damaged.
The ATLAS shovel handle is made from ash wood under-stems; these contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood has been re-dried in a computer-controlled climate chamber. As a result, the handle does not shrink, tools remain firmly attached to the handle, and the through-mount T-grip can be pressed onto the handle without glue or a staple.
ATLAS handles are bent in boiling water. This makes the wood grain or fiber in the handle bend along with it and prevents the grain from splitting out of the handle. The bending process makes the handle extremely strong. In addition, the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba, which provides a longer service life and a pleasant smooth handle, thereby preventing blisters.
Explanation of socket angle
The socket angle indicates the angle relative to the blade. The higher the socket angle, the more slanted the socket. This determines whether a spade or shovel is designed for stabbing (digging) or for scooping. The socket angle is measured from the ground to the socket, when the blade lies flat on the ground.
Straight: the handle stands almost straight on the blade
1/4: the socket is bent up 35 mm, for example for digging shovels
1/2: the socket is bent up 55 mm, for example for scoop shovels and concrete shovels
3/4: the socket is bent up 70cm, for example with scoop shovels and deep shovels
Explanation of blade width
In the past there were blade widths that ranged from number 2 down to 0, with 2 being the largest. Over time the blades had to be made smaller because of working conditions, and smaller size standards were introduced.
The blade sizes for shovels and spades are from large to small: 2 – 1 – 0 – 00 – 000
