ATLAS spade handle of ash wood, length 90 cm, fitted with a T-grip and a smooth, narrow point, among others suitable for a Spear & Jackson spade with a lip. This handle is 10 cm longer than the original Spear & Jackson spade handle. For assembly a 50 mm rivet is recommended (article number 651620, including assembly advice).

ATLAS spade handles are made from ash wood rootstocks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-resistant and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. By re-drying the handle does not shrink and tools remain firmly attached to the handle.

Then the ATLAS handles are waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its beautiful natural color. The waxing provides a longer service life and a pleasantly smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, waxing handles with a plant-based wax is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.

ATLAS spade handles are manufactured completely energy-neutral in the Netherlands and are available in various lengths and designs.
