Shovel handle ATLAS of ash wood, bent model in length 140 cm. A shovel handle is often used together with a concrete shovel, scoop shovel, stable shovel or a cable shovel.

ATLAS shovel handles are made from ash wood undertrunks, which contain the best wood. Ash wood is tough, shock-absorbing and strong. The ash wood undergoes two drying processes: during the first drying process sawn ash wood planks are air-dried. During the second process the ash wood is re-dried in a climate chamber under computer control. By re-drying, tools remain firmly fixed to the handle.

Next, the ATLAS shovel handles are bent in boiling water. This causes the wood grain in the handle to bend along, preventing the grain from running out of the handle (a running-out grain is weaker). The bending process makes the handle extremely strong.

Finally the ATLAS handle is waxed with plant-based Carnauba. This ensures the wood can breathe, does not absorb water or dirt, and retains its attractive natural color. Waxing provides a longer lifespan and a pleasant smooth handle, preventing blisters. Moreover, waxing handles with plant-based wax is better for the environment than using varnish or paraffin.
